EMPLOYER SPOTLIGHT

“Students can walk right into a career,” said Nicole Waxman, Talent Acquisition Manager at Enterprise Mobility.

Nicole Waxman

We met with Nicole Waxman and her team at the Pennsauken, New Jersey location. Nicole described not only the great opportunities for interns and recent grads, but also full-time positions with a great starting salary and amazing benefits.

WHY SHOULD STUDENTS DO AN INTERNSHIP AT ENTERPRISE?

It’s a very positive program where everyone supports each other to move forward. Many students start off as interns then get hired as full-time employees. Everyone in a management role has completed the trainee program and shared the same experience. You could meet the CEO or Regional VP at an event and ask them about their experiences in the program. It’s a tremendous opportunity to learn our business.

WHAT INTERNSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE? WHEN SHOULD A STUDENT APPLY?

SPRING INTERNSHIPS – We start promoting our Spring Internship in mid-August. This is open to Seniors preparing to graduate in 2025. This is a part-time internship for approximately 25 hours per week. The internship program is modeled after our Management Trainee position. Students get to dive into projects pretty much immediately. They receive training and gain experience in Sales and Customer Service; Interns learn how to build relationships with our clients and accounts. It’s a very hands-on program.

SUMMER INTERNSHIPS – The Summer Internships are posted in Mid-September. They are between 35-40 hours per week. The program is open to “rising seniors”. This is available to Juniors who are going into their Senior year.

LIKE TRUCKS?  CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT YOUR NEW INTERNSHIP?

We have a new TRUCK internship. Our truck division is offering internships to college students starting this year. We currently have a Rutgers Camden intern in this position at our Cinnaminson location. This will be available again in the Summer of 2025 for any interested students. It’s perfect for Juniors going into their Senior year. The Truck and Management Training program will be posted in September.

We hire within. Interns are often hired right from the internship program. our CEO and VP went through the Management Program. I can lead anywhere throughout the company.

NOT A DESK JOB!

Students should know that this is NOT a desk job. Everyone has a home base, but traveling outside of the office is common.  Travel can be up to 30 minutes from your home base. I would say interns can expect to travel locally about 10%-20% of the time. That was one of the things that appealed to me when I started at the company. I didn’t want to be confined to a desk all day. You are doing a lot of different things when you work at Enterprise

OPEN TO ALL MAJORS

We accept all majors in the Management Trainee program. I studied Baking/ Pastry Arts and Food Service Management in college. I started at Enterprise on the recommendation from a friend.  I had experience in customer service, so I started as a Management Trainee. I just loved it. We have so many career paths through the organization. Sales, Marketing, Logistics, Business and many others. I’ve been here for over six years now. I started in the Management Trainee program and moved into the Human Resource Department.  I’m currently the Talent Acquisition Manager in the Human Resource Department – South Jersey Division.

MORNING HUDDLE

It’s a very positive environment where we all support each other. We start each day with a morning huddle. We talk as a group which allows our team to connect. We talk about customer service and how to address our customer needs. This way we’re planned and ready to go for the day.

QUALIFICATIONS

We look for 3 months of customer service or college/military leadership. Candidates should be able to articulate customer service. This is one of the biggest things that we do. The candidate should have a willingness to learn. Being competitive is a plus as well. We have a great culture that focuses on motivation. It’s a fun part of the job.

LAST THOUGHTS

The most common question that I get from students is “What is the biggest challenge”? Our students always have someone they can turn to when they are challenged. Everyone learns the business from the ground up.  “Keep going, keep growing. Enterprise can you get there.”
