Resume Critiques | Getting Started | Samples | Additional Resources

RESUME CRITIQUE SERVICE

It is highly recommended that you have your resume and cover letters critiqued by Career Advancement Center Staff.

  • Email the document(s) to: careercenter@camden.rutgers.edu (Word Document, not PDF or Canva) or drop it off at the Career Advancement Center, lower level of the Campus Center.
  • Critiques take up to 5 business days, but may take longer during busy times of year, such as the week before a career fair.

GETTING STARTED

  • Download the Resume and Cover Letter Guide for best practices and samples.
  • RESUME BASICS – the do’s and don’ts of resume writing.
  • DO NOT USE PRE-MADE RESUME TEMPLATES – Create your resume in Microsoft Word.
Pre-made templates include tables which applicant tracking software cannot read.

ADDITIONAL RESOURCES

  • Attend a resume workshop presented by the Career Center.
  • Resume AIBig Interview: The Big Interview site also has resume AI, Big RESUME you can use to submit your resume for review and receive practical feedback to evaluate it.
  • After you’ve had your resume critiqued by Career Center staff, upload your resume to Handshake where you will use it to apply for jobs, internships and on-campus recruiting opportunities.
